The Coaching Series 4-5

Individual and Business Leadership

The topics listed below are common themes I’ve used to help previous clients. I will develop a program based around you goals and challenges so we meet your objective.

Series Four – Individual Leadership

Series Four themes are focused on effective leadership. You can ask 30 people what makes a good leader, and you will hear 30 different replies. One common answer I heard was, a leader should have a level of influence that goes beyond title or hierarchical position. Leaders are in a privileged position to, not only shape the organisation using diverse & inclusive thinking, but build a culture of trust, self-empowerment and instil motivation. It took me a while to find my own effective leadership style. I spent quite a number of years observing different leaders, gaining feedback from their teams and reviewing their short- and long-term results. I have simplified this into a series of themes that will help you build on your natural skills and give you a more effective connection with your organisation.

  • Ethical Leadership is the foundation stone you cannot move.
  • You vs the perception of your position.
  • Inspire at the front, enable at the back.
  • Understanding your connection with the organisation.
  • Leadership and management, how should these coexist within your role?

About the Sessions

The leadership list of themes is purposely small. These cover some of the essential skills that are the building blocks to effective leadership.

Bespoke coaching sessions are the preference in series 4 & 5. They will be based around your experience, tenure, natural style and organisation culture. Even one blind spot at this level, or unconscious behaviours, could be a huge barrier to you connecting, inspiring and motivating your organisation.

After a detailed discussion of your brief, we will organise coaching sessions that will be open, sometimes challenging, but will always be focused on you developing your natural resources in the most effective way.

The progression sessions will support the milestones of your leadership action plan.

Series Five – Business Leadership

The challenges of Customers seeing only a homogeneous market place, unpredictable competitors too willing to pull the price lever and the pressures to improve profitability, whilst growing market share, shift the focus away from strategic sustainable growth initiatives.

The pressures of achieving the annual Business plan takeover and organisational focus generally switches to reducing overhead spending and minimising investments. This can become cyclical with your strategy overtaken by the immediate need to constantly manage a fluctuating bottom line. This cycle can be broken though, once you take a different approach to building strategy and aligning resources on its successful deployment. After the challenging years after the Financial crash in 2008, I developed a simple and effective way of developing strategy which was embraced by one of the largest matrix and multi- franchise organisations in the world.

A clear, winning and deployable strategy will rally the organisation, develop new capabilities and ensure that you can perpetually invest to grow.

  • Creating a sustainable strategy that will always deliver profitable growth.
  • What is the blind spot that is constantly missed by Leadership teams?
  • How do you translate the fog of information into clearer insights?
  • How do you invest resources on growth while balancing the need for short term results?
  • How can strategy be used to align the organisation, develop individuals and cultivate collective accountability?

About the Sessions

These sessions will be highly interactive and are more effective when run with small groups. These won’t involve hours of theorising or war stories. We will move quickly through the techniques I use and look at how these can impact your current strategies and business model.

The uniqueness of my Power of Three approach will mean that there will be some training on the approach I use, followed by small focused interactive group coaching sessions, where you will challenge your current strategy, organisational focus and future results.

We will spend some time reviewing your business objectives, results and culture. We can then tailor make the sessions, breaking these down into smaller goals.
